The Hamburg-based shipping company Chemikalien Seetransport (CST) and the Dortmund-based investment manager Dr. Peters Group (DPG) are founding a joint venture with immediate effect. From now on, this will be active on the market as a further maritime service provider and will bear the name CST/DS Shipmanagement GmbH. The management activities of the DPG subsidiaries DS Tankers and DS Schiffahrt will be largely integrated into the joint venture. The fleet is to be further expanded, especially in the tanker segment.

The joint venture will be based in the premises of the shareholder Chemikalien Seetransport in Hamburg.

Chemikalien Seetransport brings in-depth know-how in the management of LNG, chemical, product and crude oil tankers as well as bulkers to the venture. This know-how is profitably complemented by the many years of experience in the technical management of crude oil tankers and dry cargo vessels of the DPG subsidiaries DS Tankers and DS Schiffahrt.

Independent of the joint venture, Chemikalien Seetransport as well as DS Tankers and DS Schiffahrt will continue to exist as independent companies.

With a fleet of currently 40 tankers and bulkers, Chemikalien Seetransport will further expand its market position as one of the leading German tanker shipping companies.

In the coming years, DS Tankers and DS Schiffahrt will continue to fulfil selected contracts that were concluded prior to the formation of the joint venture. In addition, DPG will continue to be active in chartering and crewing through its subsidiaries.
